Rey Yap, founder of Yaw-Yan Buhawi, explains that despite the intimidating name, the Philippine kickfighting art called Yaw-Yan (or “Sayaw ng Kamatayan” which means “Dance of Death”) is more than just a fighting style.
He explains that despite the intimidating name Yaw-Yan teaches a mindset geared towards becoming a better person and contributor to society—hoping that one day, people can look beyond the name and enjoy its many benefits.
